Homeopathic Treatment Considerations

Often a sign of being run down or under stress, but can also be caused by accidental damage (biting side of mouth, using toothbrush carelessly, eating food which is too hot); aggravated by acidic and spicy food, and by cigarette smoke; in some cases, it may also be the symptom of a food allergy.

Mouth Ulcers usually heal within 10 days, constitutional treatment is recommended if ulcers are recurrent.

Mouth Ulcers require detailed specific prescribing of the "right" homeopathic remedy.

Trial and error or shotgun prescribing does not work, and therefore we don't recommend self-medication. In fact, self-medication will complicate the overall symptom picture.

Homeopathic Treatment Considerations:

Arsenicum - The mouth is dry and burning, ulcers are soothed by warm water.
Borax - Ulcers bleed when touched or after eating. The mouth feels of and is tender, these ulcers are sometime associated with oral thrush.
Mercurious - Ulcers mainly on tongue, where they sting and burn, especially when chewing food. The tongue is coated and sufferer will experience more saliva than usual, bad breath and loose teeth.
