Insomnia is not a single night or even several nights of disturbed sleep, but a persistent pattern of short-sleeping which leaves the sufferer feeling un-rested and worn out. Most people who complain of Insomnia do in fact get some sleep, but clearly not enough. The causes of Insomnia are usually emotional; anxiety, depression, grief, or too much excitement. However, problems such as heart or lung disease, prostate problems, discomfort during pregnancy or a food allergy can also contribute to Insomnia.
Insomnia has been treated by homeopathy.
Insomnia requires detailed specific prescribing of the "right" homeopathic remedy.
Trial and error or shotgun prescribing does not work, and therefore we don't recommend self-medication. In fact, self-medication will complicate the overall symptom picture.
Below are only some of the remedies we may prescribe, please note how important the individual symptom picture is. Only when all symptoms, aggravation or amelioration are taken into consideration can a specific homeopathic remedy be selected.
A further consideration is given to the potency of the remedy.
